We have been working hard to learn about each of Newton's Laws. Today we built structures to withstand force to better prepare us for the Egg Drop Eggstravaganza next week!

We are moving on from specific forces like gravity and friction to begin studying Newton's Laws. Here is a great video and quiz combo to help you understand them better!

http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Physics-Interactives/Newtons-Laws/Free-Body-Diagrams/Free-Body-Diagram-Interactive So sorry for the lack of posting but we've a fun week of Barbie Bungee and Physics Classroom interactives! I am posting the candy cart interactive below so you can play at home. Tomorrow we will start free body diagrams and this will continue into next week when we begin Newton's Laws.
Today we started taking preliminary data for our big Barbie Bungee Jump next week. Kids are testing a small number of rubber bands, graphing, and using the equation of a line to predict the number of rubber bands to use for a much larger fall. Today we ran stairs to calculate the amount of work and power we exert. We used this information to figure out the STAGGERING amount of times we would need to run the stairs to burn off the calories in ONE candy bar!
