Today was AWESOME! The Pre-AP class really pulled through and created some truly fabulous instruments! I am so proud!

These DIY hologram makers are all over the internet lately! And they work by refracting (bending) the light waves around them and by reflecting the images! What a great connection to light for us so we spent our time making them today.
Don't forget that your instrument project is due tomorrow! I can't wait to see all of the fabulous instruments! Today we finished up light by talking about reflection, refraction, and diffraction. There will be a quiz late next week on all of the information on light. Students who have been absent will need to see me 4th period with any questions about info they missed! Today in class we used textbooks and iPads to find information about the different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum to fill out the foldable we created yesterday. For those of you playing at home, you can use Chapter 22, Section 2 to find information about the following things for each part of the spectrum (there are 7 different parts). I will be checking for completed foldables on FRIDAY!
1. Information on the wavelength/frequency of that part of the spectrum 2. Information on uses of the wave in real life 3. Any other important information you find about that part of the spectrum Today we started to examine light! We will continue with this concept up through the end of the year. Students started with a concept map and we watched a great video on all of the types of light, both visible and invisible. We will continue with notes on the EM spectrum tomorrow! Today in class we finished up sound by discussing the Doppler Effect and talking about how sound works in the ear. Tomorrow we will begin LIGHT! Don't forget that instrument diagrams are due tomorrow!
