The formal Lab Write Up is due |
Students received their second data set question today in class and most of them did a phenomenal job of identifying independent, dependent, and control variables in the scenario. We then began examining the scientific method in practice by doing a paper plane lab. We will continue this lab tomorrow! |
This morning students received their first taste of the famed "Data Set Questions" of the LTF curriculum. We discussed some differences and similarities between their curriculum and the regular curriculum. They were made aware that there will be ANOTHER Data Set Question early in the week next week! We also identified independent, dependent, and control variables from the scenarios we examined yesterday.
Today we talked about how to ask testable questions and also how to form a hypothesis using the "If...then..." format. This was a review from last year. Students who did not finish their hypotheses in class need to finish them for homework. We will move on to identifying variables tomorrow!
After taking the science safety quiz, we finished up working on qualitative and quantitative observations today. Pre-AP students will begin having one question quizzes that correlate with homework later this week. Check out some of the awesome safety posters turned in below!
