Today we started our unit on properties of matter, which included defining mass and weight and finding the volume under different circumstances. We will have a notebook check tomorrow where students will practice what they learned today, and then we will continue with physical and chemical properties on Monday!

Today we finished our unit on the Electromagnetic Spectrum by reading about the radio-frequency ID technology currently being used at Disney World. Students discussed pros and cons as groups before composing an argument based on the article. Check out the article below.
In addition to this, we also glued in a rubric for an upcoming notebook check. We entered essential questions for our Properties of Matter unit, and students tested their current knowledge of properties of matter by completing an anticipation guide. We will dive into notes and calculations tomorrow! Today students were able to see the hard work of their fellow classmates as they participated in a gallery walk where they collected information from other posters created during this unit. In this unit, students not only became well acquainted with their particular part of the spectrum, but they also learned about the other parts. Check out the pictures below to see the great work! |
