Today we learned how to use the triangle to solve for any variable in the 2nd law equation. We will continue working with this concept tomorrow after the friction quiz. We also started working on momentum and will continue this concept tomorrow as well.

Today we started learning about Newton's Laws by doing a few demos in class. We will continue to delve into the laws tomorrow as we work toward our car project for next week. I have uploaded the presentation below for anyone who missed it in class. It is finally time for the Newton's 3rd Law Car Races! This is one of my favorite projects because of the creativity involved. This project is due next Thursday, March 25th when we will race the cars in class. I have included the information given to all students below, but I would like to STRESS that is is a "trash to treasure" project. Use things you find around your house and be CREATIVE! There can be NO pre-fabricated parts on the cars! (For example, you cannot use a battery powered fan that you buy from a store. If you would like to learn about how to build a motor to power a fan using a battery--that is acceptable!) There will also be BONUS POINTS awarded to the vehicle that travels the course in the QUICKEST amount of time!
The Gravity Glogs we have been creating in class will count as the third 9 weeks final exam. All glogs are due by 3PM on Friday, March 11th. You may come before school or during 4th period for help on your glog if you will not be able to finish it during class.
Students who had completed their research were able to begin building their digital poster in class today. Students will have the opportunity to spend most of this week working on creating and revising their Glog before we submit them. Students also have the ability to work on this at any home computer or device with internet access provided they remember their username and password. I will post a due date for all Glogs once I have assessed how quickly students are able to create and revise.
