| Moving on from gravity and elastic force, today we started a lab to learn about friction and how different surfaces and different weights affect it. We will continue our information on friction tomorrow and start with our remaining forces next week! |

Today we completed our data analysis for the Barbie Bungee Jump. In addition to creating a bar graph to label survivors and non-survivors, the kids wrote a conclusion and explored how gravity and elastic force worked together in this experiment. We finished up with a great reading passage about how bungee jumping made it to the Western World. Check out the notes below!
Other Videos From Today
While I was out yesterday for archery training, the kids worked with Chapter 5 Section 2 of our textbook to learn a little more about forces. They also read a story to help them distinguish between mass and weight. They were given time after their test today to work on both of these assignments if they did not get them finished. Here is my notebook to check answers: P.S. - Not only did I make a 99 on my archery test, I still ALSO have BOTH my eyes! I call that a WIN-WIN!
Today we took some time to explore an often used item in physical science: the SPRING SCALE! We began today by exploring spring scales and labeling a diagram. We then completed a lab to test our brain against a spring scale.
